Leading Chinese smartphone brand, OPPO, has officially opened their new marketing center in the fifth settlement in Cairo, Egypt as a part of their strategic regional expansion plan. The center will serve as the hub for all of OPPO’s marketing operations in Middle East and Africa markets; where OPPO worldwide boasts some of the biggest markets.
Since their launch in Egypt, OPPO has been noticeably committed to the Egyptian market, due to the market’s untapped potential; a central reason that the brand chose Egypt as the main location for their regional center. The center is expected to position OPPO as a leading phone brand in the MENA market, especially in Egypt where over 98 million mobile subscriptions offer the mobile industry unlimited potential.
Since entering the market, OPPO has relied heavily on market activities that focus on on-ground activities and sponsorships to raise their brand awareness. The center will drastically assist OPPO with raising their brand awareness and is expected to grant the brand more marketing opportunities, as well as strengthening OPPO’s sales network in the region.
Furthermore, the center is expected to create more job opportunities for Egyptians with projections of an increase of 90%. OPPO already has 4,000 employees in Egypt across their 6 service centers as well as their main office.
Managing Director of OPPO Africa and the Middle East, Andy Shi commented on the opening stating: At OPPO, we set a global strategy of opening a Marketing Center in every region. We started with India’s Marketing Center for the South Asian region, and we now moved to Egypt for the MENA region.
Shi added: OPPO prides itself on localizing itself within all the world’s regions, and this is why investing in the market center has been a major step forward for us as a brand. The establishment of this center will enable us to better understand the requirements of the region’s users, and more importantly, will enable us to interact with local communities.
Most recently, OPPO gained further momentum in the Egyptian market with the introduction of the F series. With F3 finding great success in the Egyptian market, the F5 sold out all their pre-orders units within just days of their release. OPPO gained mainstream attention, however, when they sponsored the Egypt’s national football team during the World-Cup’s qualification matches and the Egyptian premium league for two consecutive seasons; highlighting their commitment to the Egyptian market. Based on their success in 2017, OPPO was awarded as the Fastest growing company in the Information Technology field during Business Today’s award ceremony, BT100 which took place in February 2018.
