Global Industry Giants Converge in Casablanca as WAM Morocco Signals Africa’s Industry 4.0 Momentum

Morocco is reinforcing its position on the global industrial map as the World Advanced Manufacturing & Future Mobility Exhibition (WAM Morocco) attracts an unprecedented lineup of international industry leaders. The event marks the first manufacturing exhibition appearance in Morocco for global names such as SAP, Sumitomo Corporation and ENGIE, underlining growing international confidence in the kingdom as a strategic hub for Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing in Africa.

More Than 100 Exhibitors from Over 18 Countries

Scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 January at the Foire Internationale de Casablanca, WAM Morocco brings together more than 100 exhibiting companies representing over 18 countries. Participants include firms from the United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. The exhibition also marks the Moroccan debut of companies such as Vigel and Zoho Corporation.

A Global Platform for Industrial Collaboration

WAM Morocco unites leading technology providers and industrial innovators, including Schneider Electric, Teledyne, Vivo Energy, the Port Authority of Barcelona, Kirby Building Systems and OCP Circular Technologies. This diverse international presence positions the exhibition as a high-impact platform for cross-border collaboration, technology transfer and industrial investment across Africa’s manufacturing ecosystem.

International Confidence in Morocco’s Industrial Transformation

Commenting on the event, Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, said that the calibre of companies participating in WAM Morocco reflects the accelerating pace of Morocco’s industrial transformation. She noted that global industry leaders increasingly recognise Morocco not only as a participant in the future of intelligent manufacturing, but as an active contributor shaping its direction across the continent.

Academic and Innovation Leadership at the Core

A spokesperson for Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) highlighted the strategic importance of the exhibition, stating that UM6P’s participation reflects strong confidence in Morocco’s ability to lead next-generation intelligent industrial ecosystems. The platform, the spokesperson added, enables meaningful collaboration and accelerates innovation in emerging manufacturing technologies.

Strong Institutional and Industrial Backing

The exhibition is supported by a broad coalition of Morocco’s leading industrial and institutional stakeholders, including MSC Pro, CDD, CE3M, Amlog, Fenagri, CGM, the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT), and UM6P. Strategic sponsors include Seidor, Transit Aharram and Plastic Science by Design. This backing, alongside support from sovereign financial institutions and industry federations such as CDG and APEBI, positions WAM Morocco as a government-endorsed driver of national industrial development.

A Meeting Point for Policymakers, Investors and Industry Leaders

Hatim Chraibi, Principal at SPIRE Advisory Group, described WAM Morocco as a rare platform that brings together industry leaders, policymakers and investors in one place. He emphasised its role in fostering synergies, increasing awareness and unlocking Morocco’s and Africa’s industrial potential.

Africa’s First International Industrial Startup Pavilion

In a landmark initiative supported by Invest India, WAM Morocco introduces the region’s first international startup pavilion dedicated to industrial innovation. The pavilion is designed to accelerate cross-border collaboration by connecting African industrial challenges with global startup solutions.

Supernova Challenge Showcases Industrial Innovation

The startup programme is reinforced by the Supernova Challenge, Africa’s first manufacturing-focused startup competition. The initiative features a USD 10,000 cash prize and has attracted more than 40 startups working in advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, supply chain optimisation and future mobility.

Top Startups Pitch Cutting-Edge Technologies

The ten Supernova finalists represent innovation across high-impact industrial sectors, including advanced robotics, AI-powered quality control, sustainable materials, industrial IoT platforms, smart logistics and next-generation energy systems. Finalists will pitch directly to investors and senior executives, with winners gaining access to funding and strategic partnerships to support expansion across African and global markets.

Mobility Data and the Future of Smart Cities

Jaafar Elalamy, CEO of Seiki, highlighted the strategic relevance of the exhibition in the context of urban development. He stressed the importance of mobility data in building smarter, more sustainable cities, noting Morocco’s role as a bridge between Africa and Europe. With preparations underway for the 2030 World Cup and the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, he said integrating mobility data has become increasingly critical.

Strengthening Links with West Africa

Expanding its pan-African reach, WAM Morocco has secured a strategic partnership with the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FEWACCI). The collaboration strengthens ties between Morocco’s industrial ecosystem and West Africa’s fast-growing markets, opening new avenues for trade, investment and technology deployment.
