ITIDA Puts Egypt on the Global Map of Software Testing with AI-Driven Vision

ITIDA Leads Egypt’s Rise as a Global Software Testing Powerhouse

In a move cementing Egypt’s position as a global tech contender, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has propelled the country’s flagship event—Software Testing Day—into the ISTQB® Global Conference Network, aligning Egypt with world leaders in software quality assurance.

Backed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), ITIDA organized the third edition of the conference through its affiliate, the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC). Held in Cairo, the event brought together more than 500 local and international experts, showcasing Egypt’s emergence as a hub for cutting-edge, AI-integrated software testing.

ITIDA’s Strategic Role in Building Global Tech Credibility

Speaking at the event, ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher emphasized that software testing is more than a technical necessity—it’s a strategic pillar of Egypt’s digital economy.

“Through AI, DevOps, and international certifications, Egypt is becoming a reliable global destination for software quality services,” El-Zaher stated.

He added that the growing interest from international tech companies reflects Egypt’s unique value proposition as an offshoring hub, thanks to its highly skilled talent and robust digital infrastructure.

SECC: ITIDA’s Engine for Excellence and Certification

Through SECC, ITIDA is fostering Egypt’s next generation of software testers. The center serves as the sole ISTQB® Examination and Certification Body in Egypt, and has certified over 9,000 professionals while issuing more than 13,600 international certifications across various testing disciplines including AI, security, mobile, and automotive systems.

These globally aligned certifications are a core part of ITIDA’s national strategy to bridge Egypt’s talent with international market demand.

“Joining the ISTQB® Global Conference Network is a vote of confidence in our work,” said Dr. Haitham Hamza, Acting Chairman of SECC.

“It’s not just participation—it’s influence. ITIDA is helping Egypt shape global QA standards.”

AI at the Core of ITIDA’s Innovation Strategy

Software Testing Day 2025, under ITIDA’s leadership, showcased how AI and DevOps are reshaping quality assurance practices.

Topics ranged from AI-powered test case generation and ethical model evaluation, to intelligent automation integrated within CI/CD pipelines.

Speakers from Microsoft, Deloitte, Expleo, and DXC highlighted how AI is rapidly becoming an indispensable tool for modern software testing.

Live demos from 10 companies illustrated practical applications in secure coding, smart testing platforms, and AI validation tools—areas ITIDA is actively nurturing through its innovation and R&D initiatives.

Global Recognition for ITIDA’s Vision

In a keynote address, Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger, President of ISTQB®, praised ITIDA and SECC for their high standards and event excellence:

“This conference was outstanding—not just in execution, but in spirit. The mix of industry and academia, and the enthusiasm of Egypt’s tech community, reflect the powerful work ITIDA is doing.”

In her session “ISTQB and AI – How Do the Two Go Together?”, Dr. Dussa-Zieger explored how ISTQB’s certification model is evolving to incorporate AI, echoing the innovation-driven path ITIDA has already embraced.

A Blueprint for Emerging Markets

As the global demand for reliable, AI-enabled software continues to soar, ITIDA’s model—centered on talent development, international certification, and strategic positioning—offers a roadmap for other emerging economies.

“We’re not just keeping pace—we’re shaping the future of digital solutions,” said Ahmed El-Zaher.

“At ITIDA, our mission is clear: to empower Egyptian talent, attract international collaboration, and lead the region in trusted, world-class software innovation.”
