primarily to the youth category because it is a category passionate about technology to a great
extent.
The Regional Director of oraimo emphasized that choosing Egypt to be the center for manufacturing
the company’s products in Africa came as a result of its distinguished location and as a promising
market for the company’s products full of opportunities and its connection to a number of trade
agreements such as COMESA, Agadir, and others with African countries, which will allow oraimo
products to easily pass through to the countries of the continent.
Leo, explained that oraimo is the largest smart accessories factory in the world with the largest
market share in Africa, and it targets through its factory in Egypt many African markets, especially
North African markets.
The Regional Director of oraimo praised the investment incentives provided by the Egyptian
government to Chinese investors, confirming the strong convergence and solid common relations
between Egypt and China, both people and government.
For her part, Khadija Abdel Rahim, oraimo Egypt Director, said that oraimo is not only a smart
accessories company but also supports smart living in general through a number of modern products
that will be produced under the slogan “Made in Egypt” and gradually revealed, as part of the
company’s expansion plan in Africa, supporting IoT technology to provide a smart life experience in a
smart home relying on connected devices that are controlled through smartphones.
Khadija Abdel Rahim stressed that Egypt is a country of weight and our direction towards
manufacturing in it is a big step, pointing out that oraimo’s production lines at the Silicon Valley
factory match production lines in China in terms of quality, technology, maintenance services, and
after-sales services, and we are currently seeking to expand production so that Egypt becomes a
central hub for export to 45 countries in Africa, stating that exports will begin during the second half
of the current year 2024.
Khadija pointed out that oraimo not only invests in manufacturing smart accessories and electronic
devices in Egypt but also invests in human resources and developing skilled and trained labor for
electronics manufacturing, which aligns with the state’s plan and the presidential initiative “Egypt
Manufactures Electronics.”
Engineer Abdel Moneim El-Khawaja, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Factory,
stated that oraimo supported the factory with the necessary expertise and components for
manufacturing and greatly assisted in training the Egyptian workforce at the factory to produce smart
accessories according to global standards and helped supply the factory with the latest devices for
manufacturing smart accessories that are not inferior in quality or efficiency to their counterparts in China.
El-Khawaja explained that establishing the factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which is an
economic zone with special laws that provide many incentives for investors, allows factories to export
their products to all countries on the continent, alongside entering its products into the Egyptian
market to meet the increasing local demand, indicating that the Suez Canal Economic Authority is
currently establishing an electronic system and a customs office specific to the authority to facilitate
the work of investors in the region.
