Egypt to Host Ai Everything MEA 2026, Cementing Its Role as a Regional AI Powerhouse

Cairo is set to welcome the world’s leading AI innovators, enterprises, and experts at the inaugural Ai Everything Middle East & Africa, taking place from 10–12 February 2026, organised by GITEX GLOBAL, under the patronage of Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and in strategic partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

Egypt’s Accelerated AI Leadership

Egypt is fast-tracking its leadership in artificial intelligence across Africa and beyond, powered by a national roadmap for AI-driven transformation. According to the 2024 GBS World Competitiveness Index, Egypt ranks among the top 10 countries globally in AI and Machine Learning, and the only African nation in this league.

The country’s National AI Strategy (2025–2030) is embedding AI into critical sectors including manufacturing, digital health, education, cloud infrastructure, fintech, cybersecurity, energy, and public digital services.

Cairo as a Global AI Hub

The launch of Ai Everything MEA positions Cairo as a focal point for global AI collaboration. The event will convene enterprises, startups, decision-makers, and thought-leaders from over 60 countries, showcasing frontier AI technologies and practical use cases aligned with Egypt’s AI priorities, including outsourcing, semiconductor design, and cybersecurity.

Leaders’ Statements Reinforce Vision

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said:

“Artificial Intelligence is reshaping global competitiveness, and Egypt is determined not just to adapt but to lead. Our National AI Strategy reflects our vision to position Egypt as a driving force in responsible AI adoption, policy innovation, and inclusive digital growth.”

Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, added:

Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre and organiser of GITEX, stated:

“AI has leveled the digital playing field, creating new opportunities for nations. Egypt is harnessing this phenomenon to regenerate its social and economic fabric, reinforcing its stature on the global stage. Ai Everything MEA will be a force multiplier for Egypt’s strategic AI mission.”

Investment and Startup Opportunities

The event will open with a high-level summit and a two-day immersive exhibition aimed at accelerating collaborative R&D, industrial AI applications, startup growth, global investments, and digital skills development.

Global tech leaders including IBM, HPE, Atos, and Cyshield will participate, alongside 200+ venture capitalists from the GITEX network managing over US$1 trillion in assets, exploring investments in Egyptian and regional startups.

The summit will also launch one of the region’s largest youth-tech academies, channeling fresh engineering talent into pilot projects and mentorship programs, supporting Egypt’s annual pool of over 750,000 university graduates.
