Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The three-year agreement aims to reinforce collaboration and support the development of Egypt’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and digital services industries.
Alignment with Digital Egypt’s Offshoring Strategy
Aligned with the Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry 2022–2026, this collaboration establishes a joint framework to enhance ICT technologies and services across the country. The initiative also supports potential expansion into critical areas such as engineering, research and development (ER&D), Business Process Management (BPM), and Knowledge Services (KS).

Focus on Digital Skills, Employment, and University Partnerships
The MoU details cooperation on several fronts, including comprehensive digital skills training programs, targeted employment fairs, and key industry events. It also outlines collaboration with universities to support youth, recent graduates, and current students. These activities are directly aligned with the strategies of ITIDA and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Building on Previous Capacity-Building Initiatives
This agreement builds on a history of cooperation, as Ericsson and ITIDA have previously collaborated on numerous seminars and capacity-building initiatives centered on emerging technologies.
MCIT Minister: Egypt is a Trusted Global Partner for Digital Services
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated: “The agreement with Ericsson is part of a broader package with 55 global and local companies expanding their investments in Egypt’s offshoring sector, leveraging our highly skilled workforce, advanced digital infrastructure, and strategic geographic location. These competitive advantages strengthen Egypt’s position as a trusted global partner and enable companies to deliver world-class digital services, empowering enterprises to grow from Egypt to the world.”
ITIDA CEO: MoU Reflects Global Confidence in Egyptian Talent
Ahmed El-Zaher, Chief Executive Officer of ITIDA, said: “In ITIDA, we view each new center and every expansion as a commitment — a commitment to grow it, and to ensure it achieves its full potential. The MoU with Ericsson, along with others signed during the Global Offshoring Summit, reflects the confidence of global tech leaders in Egypt’s vision and talent. Egypt has evolved from a service destination into a strategic global partner in high-value digital services.”

Ericsson: Committed to Creating Opportunities for Local Talent
Kevin Murphy, President of Ericsson North Middle East, commented: “Through this collaboration with ITIDA, we continue to build on our long-standing relationship and shared commitment to advancing Egypt’s digital capabilities. Together, we aim to create new opportunities for local talent and strengthen the foundations for a sustainable and innovation-driven ICT sector.”
Driving 5G Adoption and Supporting Egypt Vision 2030
The partnership reinforces Ericsson’s long-term engagement with Egypt and its role as a strategic partner to government stakeholders. Building on this collaboration, the company will continue to drive innovation and accelerate the adoption of 5G and advanced digital solutions, bringing cutting-edge global technologies to Egypt’s rapidly evolving ICT sector. Through this collaboration, Ericsson aims to support Egypt’s digital transformation and contribute to youth development and national growth, in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
