Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced a major strategic agreement granting Orange exclusive mobile-only broadcasting rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
This landmark deal strengthens Orange’s position as a key digital content player in Africa and marks a significant step in the evolution of mobile-first sports broadcasting on the continent.
Mobile-First AFCON Coverage Across 13 African Countries
Under the agreement, active users of the Max it super app will be able to watch live a curated selection of 35 AFCON matches across 13 Sub-Saharan African countries: Burkina Faso, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea-Bissau.
The broadcast package includes all group-stage matches involving national teams from Orange-affiliated countries, in addition to selected knockout-stage fixtures. Coverage extends to matches from the round of 16, quarter-finals, one semi-final, the third-place play-off, and the final, ensuring broad and representative access to Africa’s premier football competition.
Max it TV Delivers a Seamless Viewing Experience
Through the Max it TV universe, Orange MEA is offering a viewing experience designed specifically for mobile users and adapted to the realities of African markets. The Max it super app integrates telecommunications services, financial solutions, entertainment, and digital content into a single platform, positioning it as a central hub for connected lifestyles across the continent.
The AFCON coverage will be supported by an end-to-end, low-latency broadcast infrastructure, ensuring fast, smooth, and stable streaming with minimal delay, delivering an experience as close to live action as possible.

Beyond Matches: Enriched Editorial and Live Programming
In addition to live match broadcasts, Orange MEA will enhance the fan experience through dedicated live programs aired before and after matches. These shows are designed and produced with the support of a specialized editorial and production team, combining expert analysis, contextual insights, and high-quality production standards.
This enriched content strategy aims to provide viewers with deeper engagement and a more immersive football experience, extending beyond the matches themselves.
A Digital Vision for a Connected African Audience
The initiative reflects Orange MEA’s broader mobile-first strategy and its ambition to position Max it as a pan-African benchmark for digital content. By focusing on inclusion, innovation, and talent development, Orange continues to expand access to premium African content while responding to the viewing habits of a new generation of connected users.
Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, highlighted the cultural importance of the partnership, noting that football plays a unifying role across African societies and represents shared passion, hope, and collective ambition.
Reinforcing Orange’s Role in Africa’s Digital Transformation
With this agreement, Orange Middle East and Africa reaffirms its leadership in the digitization of the continent’s media and entertainment landscape. By broadcasting Africa’s flagship football tournament through Max it, Orange is transforming digital technology into a platform for emotion, connection, and shared experiences, serving a proud and increasingly connected Africa.
