In this context, Maksim Osipov, Business Development Manager for the Middle East at inDrive, discussed Egypt’s pivotal role in the company’s future plans and how inDrive leverages artificial intelligence to enhance user and captain experiences, with negotiation as a key feature of the app.

First, welcome to Egypt! We are delighted to meet you at Cairo ICT 2024. Could you tell us about the importance of the Egyptian market in inDrive’s 2025 strategy?
Maksim Osipov: Thank you for having me. The Egyptian market is a strategic one for us and represents a significant part of our future plans. Egypt is a vast market with millions of users and strong competition, but at inDrive, we believe we have a unique competitive edge. Our focus is on improving both user and captain experiences through our app, utilizing artificial intelligence to create a better environment for both parties, whether through negotiation or diverse services like intercity transport and cargo delivery.
Negotiation is a distinguishing feature of inDrive compared to other apps in the Egyptian market. Could you explain how you manage and benefit from this process?
We understand that Egyptian users enjoy negotiating and are keen on getting the best deals. This feature has been widely embraced. At inDrive, we help users and captains arrive at flexible prices through our app, enabling them to choose rates that suit their preferences and circumstances. We use artificial intelligence to analyze collected data and information, which helps streamline the negotiation process and ensure a smoother, more satisfying experience for all parties involved.
With the growing use of AI across various industries, how does inDrive utilize this technology to enhance customer and captain experiences?
Artificial intelligence is a cornerstone of our strategy. At inDrive, we use AI to prioritize tasks during peak times, helping optimize trip distribution and respond to user needs more quickly and efficiently. Additionally, AI enables us to regularly evaluate captains. It also monitors conversations between users and captains within the app, detecting issues or complaints in real time. This allows us to intervene early to continuously improve service quality.
Beyond improving services, inDrive places a significant emphasis on social responsibility. Can you share more about the company’s projects in this area in Egypt?
At inDrive, we believe our success should not be limited to profit-making; it must also have a positive impact on the communities we operate in. With this in mind, we invest a portion of our profits in nonprofit initiatives like InVision, which aims to support education, sports, and arts in underprivileged areas. We also build partnerships with various local organizations in Egypt, including energy companies and hospitals, to expand our community impact.
Could you tell us more about inDrive’s plans for future expansion? What are your plans for the Gulf region?
We have already started expanding in regions such as Turkey and North Africa, and we will continue this growth through our Cairo office, which serves these areas. Additionally, we have plans to expand into Gulf countries in the near future, relying on the same successful model we’ve implemented in Egypt. This includes app development, strengthening relationships with captains and users, and focusing on delivering innovative and diverse services.
