OLX launches its Delivery Service in Egypt
OLX officially announces the launch of its delivery service through the website and mobile app makin it
the first platform to offer consumer-to-consumer e-commerce transactions in Egypt The service signals
the evolution of OLX from a platform connecting users together to one facilitating the delivery from
sellers to buyers. The aim of the service is to provide OLX users with an easy, safe and convenient
method for selling and buying from the comfort of a single platfor
The new easy-to-use delivery service will save OLX users their time and effort by allowing them to complete their transactions at the press of a button from the comfort of their own home
This has been made possible via collaborations with several reliable courier companies to manage the
logistics and provide both tracking and cash collection services while committing to applying all
precautionary procedures and standards to protect users and their shipments
Once the seller turns on the OLX delivery service feature on the ad and accepts an incoming request
from the buyer, OLX will relay the order details to the courier for processing. The courier will proceed
with picking up the item from the seller, delivering it to the buyer and collecting the money from the
buyer and delivering it back to the seller, with clear and predefined fees
In the initial phase, OLX users in Cairo & Giza can benefit from this service to buy and sell small and
medium-sized products including mobiles, electronic devices, kitchen utensils & appliances, clothes,
sports equipment, cameras, video games, books and home décor items. Later on in the upcoming
phases, shipping heavier items like furniture and home appliances will be allowed, accompanied by an
expansion plan to roll out the services to all governorates in addition to more services and features to
be announced in the future
Dina Gobran, General Manager of OLX Egypt, expressed her excitement to launch the new delivery
service, which improves users’ shopping experience via OLX platform and offers more safety and
convenience as users can now buy or sell any product through their laptops or mobiles at the comfort of
their own home
“OLX closed 2020 as the most used shopping app in Egypt and through launching new services to
facilitate buying and selling, we aim to strengthen our offerings by adapting to the continuous increase
