OPPO and Marvel Announce the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition, the Ultimate Smartphone for all Marvel Fans
OPPO today announced the new OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition smartphone developed in collaboration
with Marvel. The new phone builds upon the stunning design and technical strengths of OPPO Reno5 by
fusing characters and other elements from Marvel’s The Avengers series into every aspect of the phone
to create a must-have item for Marvel fans around the world.
Product Design: Classic Marvel Meets the Future of Technology
The design of the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition draws much of its inspiration from the Quantum Suits
worn by The Avengers in the movie Avengers: Endgame. Featuring a combination of black, gray, silver
and red colors, the design of the phone is instantly recognizable to any Marvel fan.
In the center of the phone’s back casing, eyes will immediately be drawn to the ro
und ‘A’ logo, which combines two iconic Marvel elements – The Avengers logo and Captain America’s
shield. Created using a Fresnel Lens Process, the ‘A’ logo is smooth and glossy to touch but appears textured and three-dimensional when viewed from different angles. Besides, the back of the phone
is designed around the letter ‘X’, taking its inspiration from the logo of Black Widow. The ‘X’ effect is
made using a combination of two different materials, the textured finish creates a unique feel to the
phone reminiscent of the high-tech suits worn by The Avengers.
The silver sides of the phone have been created through an elec
troplating process, with a black stripe in the middle revealed through laser-etching. A red embellishment
around the button adds a further touch of Marvel inspiration, making the phone easily recognizable
toMarvel fans from all angles. On the front side of the phone is a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED screen
providing users with a clear and immersive viewing experience.
Combined with the phone’s light weight and thin depth,
at 171g and 7.8mm respectively, the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition brings the excitement of the Marvel

Customized User Interface: Create Your Own Marvel Universe
The OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition carries its Marvel influence far beyond the phone’s external
appearance. When starting up the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition, users will be immediately transported
into the Marvel Universe as the Avengers logo greets them during the start-up animation.
When charging the phone using 50W Flash Charge, the charging status is shown using an animation of
the light rings on Iron Man’s Head Up Display (HUD).
Although the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition comes installed with the latest version of ColorOS 11.1 seen
on other Reno5 devices, its UI includes exclusive design details that have been completely customized
with elements from the Marvel Universe. Echoing back to the phone’s external design, the background
of the home screen features a similar design based on the Avengers Quantum Suits and spacecraft,
including gray, white and red colors together with strong lines and dark shadows. Meanwhile, the icons
of the original OPPO apps on the home screen have been replaced with icons depicting various heroes
or items in the Marvel Universe. For example, the camera icon features elements and colors from Iron
Man’s armor, and the message icon merges Captain America’s helmet and shield.
OPPO has also created six different lock screen wallpapers featuring Marvel’s Avengers, exclusively for
the OPPO Reno5 Marvel Edition. These action scenes, combined with the icons and other Marvel
elements featured across the phone’s design, create a fully immersive experience for all Marvel fans.
What’s more, a flip book-style animation inspired by the opening scenes of the Marvel movies can also
be showed when users are choosing different wallpapers, immersing them in the Marvel Universe each time.
From Packaging to Accessories – There’s Marvel in all the Details
In addition to the design of the phone itself, the packaging and accessories included with the OPPO
Reno5 Marvel Edition are also befitting of any Super Hero fan. Upon opening the packaging, the first
thing fans will see are a set of classical Avenger’s logos on a special card; accessories included in the
box comprise of earphones, a SIM card extractor pin, charger and charge cable, all of which feature
graphical and color elements from Marvel’s Avengers.
Also included in the box is a protective phone case designed in the iconic Marvel style of a red
background printed with the original six Marvel Avengers. Making use of TPU material to ensure
durability while remaining light, the case has been crafted using IML (In-Molding Labeling) processing,
with the Marvel Super Heroes painted inside the case and the Marvel logo outside, to create a 3D,
textured effect.
