Orange Egypt and Botim Simplify UAE-to-Egypt Money Transfers

Orange Egypt has announced a strategic partnership with Botim, the UAE-based fintech platform, enabling users in the United Arab Emirates to send international money transfers directly to Orange Cash wallets in Egypt. The collaboration aims to make cross-border remittances more convenient by connecting senders in the UAE with beneficiaries across Egypt through an established digital wallet network.

The partnership marks Botim’s first collaboration with a mobile network operator in Egypt and strengthens its presence in one of its five largest international remittance corridors. By connecting Botim’s Egyptian user community in the UAE with Orange Cash’s extensive reach in Egypt, the agreement expands access to digital financial services for individuals and families sending money between the two countries.

Direct Remittances to Orange Cash Wallets

Under the agreement, customers in the UAE will be able to initiate international money transfers through Botim, with funds delivered directly to recipients’ Orange Cash wallets in Egypt.

Once the money arrives, beneficiaries can access and manage their funds digitally, with the flexibility to use them for a range of everyday financial needs. These include transferring money to others, making payments, purchasing goods and services, or withdrawing cash through available cash-out channels.

The direct wallet-to-wallet connection is designed to simplify the remittance process and provide recipients with greater flexibility in accessing funds sent from abroad. It also strengthens the role of digital wallets as a practical channel for international transfers, linking financial services in the sending and receiving markets.

Connecting Millions of Users Across Two Markets

The partnership brings together Botim’s established Egyptian user base in the UAE and Orange Cash’s large customer network in Egypt. Botim has more than 2 million Egyptian users, while Orange Cash serves approximately 10 million users in the Egyptian market.

This combination creates an established channel linking Egyptians living in the UAE with family members and other beneficiaries in Egypt. It also broadens access to digital remittance services by connecting users to a wallet network already operating across the country.

Egypt is among Botim’s top five international remittance corridors, making the partnership an important step in expanding the platform’s cross-border transfer capabilities. For Orange Egypt, the collaboration provides another opportunity to extend the reach of Orange Cash beyond domestic transactions and strengthen its role in the digital financial services ecosystem.

More Than 300,000 Cash-Out Points Across Egypt

Beyond receiving funds directly into their wallets, Orange Cash customers benefit from a nationwide network of more than 300,000 cash-out points. These include Orange stores, automated teller machines (ATMs) and authorised retailers.

The extensive network gives beneficiaries multiple options for accessing transferred money, whether they prefer to retain funds in their digital wallets or withdraw cash to meet their daily needs.

Customers can also use Orange Cash for money transfers, payments and purchases, allowing them to manage different types of financial transactions through the service. The combination of digital access and a broad physical cash-out network offers flexibility for customers with different financial preferences and access requirements.

Orange Egypt also highlighted its ongoing cashback offers and grand-prize promotional campaigns, which are intended to provide additional value to Orange Cash customers using the service for everyday financial activities.

Orange Egypt Highlights Convenience and 24/7 Transfers

Commenting on the partnership, Ahmed El Abd, Chief Consumer Business Unit Officer at Orange Egypt, said the collaboration enables Egyptians residing in the UAE to send money directly to Orange Cash wallets in Egypt around the clock, seven days a week.

He emphasised that the service is designed to deliver a seamless customer experience, allowing recipients to access their funds conveniently through Orange Cash’s network of more than 300,000 cash-out points nationwide.

El Abd noted that the network includes Orange stores, ATMs and authorised retailers, giving customers different ways to access their money. He also highlighted the role of ongoing cashback offers and grand-prize promotions in delivering greater value for customers’ everyday financial needs.

The announcement reflects Orange Egypt’s continued efforts to enhance the functionality of Orange Cash and expand the range of financial services available through its digital platforms.

Botim Seeks to Bridge Gaps Between Digital Wallets

Hesham Sherif, Vice President of Consumer Payments and Wealth at Botim, said digital wallets have transformed the way people move money, but many remain disconnected across national borders. This fragmentation, he explained, limits their potential to make international remittances more accessible and affordable.

Sherif said Botim is working to address this challenge by developing a network that connects users in the UAE directly with their families’ preferred digital wallets in their home countries.

He added that Egypt is already among Botim’s five largest remittance corridors and that partnering with Orange Cash, which has an established presence in the Egyptian market, represents another step towards making international transfers as seamless as domestic payments.

The collaboration supports Botim’s broader strategy of building connections between financial services in different markets, helping users send money through digital channels linked to the wallets their recipients already use.

Supporting Digital Financial Services and Financial Inclusion

The agreement builds on Orange Egypt’s ongoing efforts to expand Orange Cash’s capabilities and broaden access to innovative and secure digital financial services. It also supports wider efforts to advance financial inclusion in Egypt by making digital financial solutions more accessible to individuals and families.

Orange Egypt serves more than 30 million customers nationwide, bringing a substantial telecommunications and digital services network to the partnership. Botim complements this reach through its fintech ecosystem in the UAE, which spans payments, remittances, lending and other financial services.

By combining Orange Egypt’s presence in the local market with Botim’s established user base and financial technology services in the UAE, the partnership brings together complementary networks to facilitate international money transfers.

The collaboration also reflects the growing importance of interoperability between digital financial platforms. Connecting users across different markets can make it easier for individuals to access financial services and manage money without relying solely on traditional transfer channels.

A More Direct Link Between Senders and Recipients

By linking Botim’s reach in the UAE with Orange Cash’s wallet network in Egypt, the partnership establishes a direct channel between people sending money and those receiving it.

For Egyptian families with relatives living and working in the UAE, the service offers another digital option for receiving financial support from abroad. Recipients can access transferred funds through their Orange Cash wallets and choose how to use the money, whether for payments, purchases, further transfers or cash withdrawals.

For both companies, the agreement represents a step towards a more connected cross-border financial ecosystem. It combines digital transfer capabilities with an established wallet network and nationwide cash-out infrastructure, aiming to make international remittances more convenient and accessible.

As digital financial services continue to evolve, the Orange Egypt–Botim partnership strengthens the connection between the UAE and Egyptian markets, expanding the options available to users who need to send, receive and manage money across borders.
