Under the patronage of Fayoum Governorate, Fayoum Gas, a subsidiary of Valmore Holding, has launched a comprehensive environmental initiative at Wadi El Rayan Protected Area. The initiative marks the celebration of World Environment Day 2026 and reinforces the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, natural resource protection, and corporate social responsibility.
Broad Participation from Government and Civil Society
The initiative witnessed strong participation from key stakeholders, including representatives from Fayoum Governorate, the Environmental Affairs Agency, and the management of Wadi El Rayan Protected Area. It also brought together NGOs and civil society organizations focused on sustainability, alongside employees from Fayoum Gas and Valmore Holding, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing environmental sustainability goals.
Clean-Up Campaign and Awareness Activities
As part of the initiative, Fayoum Gas organized a large-scale clean-up campaign across the protected area, in addition to hosting awareness sessions targeting employees, local communities, and visitors. These activities aimed to promote responsible environmental behavior and preserve the unique ecosystems of Fayoum. The initiative also spotlighted the ecological and tourism significance of Lake Qarun and Wadi El Rayan as key natural landmarks in Egypt.

A 14.4% reduction in electricity consumption
A 4.9% decrease in gasoline usage
A 5.9% reduction in CO₂ emissions
He also noted that the company obtained ISO 50001 certification, reflecting its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable operational practices.
