The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) obtains ISO Certification

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA) obtained the ISO 9001-Certification of Organizational Quality Management System, in regulating telecom services in Egypt’s market. The Certification was granted by JAS-ANZ; one of the largest organizations of accreditation, and it comes in line with the policy of NTRA to apply the international standards of organizational management for telecom service-governance, to be adopted by licensed operators in Egypt’s market. This step also contributes to fostering investments within a competitive, fair and polarizing environment, in accordance with international standards. It would also enhance the efficiency of telecom-service governance.

It is worth noting that NTRA had moved up 54 positions on the international rankings of Information and Communication Technology Regulatory Tracker of 2020, issued by the International Telecommunication Union, ITU-ICT Regulatory Tracker, occupying the 41st position amongst 193 other regulators of different countries, in comparison to the 95th position back in 2019. NTRA had also moved up 43 positions on the international rankings of The Global System for Mobile Communications Association’s (GSMA) Mobile Money Index of 2020, to become the 36th among 90 other countries adopting this kind of services, whereas it was ranked number 79 in 2019.
