Alshaya Launches Global Talent Center in Cairo, Strengthening Egypt’s Offshoring Hub

A significant milestone in Egypt’s rapidly growing offshoring and digital services sector was marked with the official inauguration of Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) CEO Eng. Ahmed Elzaher of the first Offshoring Global Talent Center of Alshaya Group in Cairo. The launch coincides with Alshaya Group’s 20-year presence in the Egyptian market, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global hub for business and technology services.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both sides, including Mr. John Hadden, Chief Executive Officer of Alshaya Group, Eng. Mahmoud Sofrata, Vice President of ITIDA, Mr. Paul Morris, Chief Customer and Technology Officer, and Ms. Janset Hussein Kasht, Country Manager for Egypt.

Comprehensive Offshore Services Powered by Egyptian Talent

The newly established Global Talent Center delivers a wide spectrum of offshore business services designed to support Alshaya Group’s global operations. These services include contact center operations, multilingual customer support, digital marketing solutions, and advanced IT services.

By leveraging Egyptian talent, the center enhances operational efficiency while enabling the Group’s international expansion strategy. The initiative reflects a strong commitment to positioning Egypt as a competitive destination for high-value business process outsourcing and technology-enabled services.

Serving Global Markets from Egypt

A key feature of the center is its ability to serve multiple international markets directly from Egypt. Services are currently delivered to 16 markets across the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to other key regions including Turkey, Kazakhstan, Central and Eastern Europe, Greece, and Cyprus.

This global delivery model reinforces Egypt’s growing role as a strategic outsourcing hub, capable of supporting complex, multilingual, and multi-regional business operations through highly skilled local professionals.

ITIDA Highlights Egypt’s Competitive Advantage

Speaking at the inauguration, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, emphasized that the launch of the Global Talent Center further strengthens Egypt’s position as a leading hub for IT and business services.

He noted that Egypt’s large and diverse talent pool continues to attract increasing interest from global companies seeking to scale their shared services, IT operations, and business functions. This trend positions Egypt as a key export base for digital services, while also making it a highly attractive destination for investment from the Gulf region and beyond.

Alshaya Group: Two Decades of Growth in Egypt

On the occasion, John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, celebrated 20 years of the company’s operations in Egypt, describing the market as a cornerstone of its regional expansion strategy.

Since entering Egypt in 2006, Alshaya Group has continuously expanded its operations, introducing leading international brands and enhancing customer experiences across the market. Hadden highlighted that Egypt remains a strategic partner in the Group’s ongoing regional growth and transformation.

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with ITIDA, particularly through initiatives such as the Global Talent Center for Contact and IT Services.

Egyptian Workforce at the Core of Global Success

Hadden further highlighted that the ambition, energy, and capabilities of Egypt’s young workforce remain a key driver of the Group’s long-term success.

He praised the growing role of Egyptian professionals in supporting global operations, noting that the country’s talent base continues to inspire innovation and operational excellence across the organization.

Alshaya Group also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Egypt’s vision of building a fully integrated digital economy, with Egypt playing a central role in its global service delivery model.

Strategic Expansion and Job Creation Plans

Alshaya Group established its Contact and Technology Services center in Cairo at the end of 2024, marking a significant step in strengthening Egypt’s position in the global outsourcing industry and IT-enabled services export market.

Building on this foundation, the Group plans to expand its Global Talent Center over the next two years, creating more than 400 new job opportunities for Egyptian professionals. These roles are fully export-oriented, supporting international operations across multiple markets.

Strengthening Long-Term Cooperation with ITIDA

The expansion builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Alshaya Group and ITIDA during the Global Offshoring Summit in November 2025.

The agreement focuses on enhancing cooperation in operations management, IT services, and digital capability development. It also emphasizes talent development through recruitment, upskilling, and training programs aimed at strengthening Egypt’s digital workforce.

This strategic collaboration supports Alshaya’s continued expansion in Egypt while reinforcing the country’s position as a global hub for digital services.

Positioning Egypt as a Global Digital Services Hub

The inauguration of the Global Talent Center underscores Egypt’s accelerating transformation into a global destination for offshoring, IT services, and digital business operations.

With strong government support, a competitive talent base, and increasing international investment, Egypt continues to solidify its role as a leading hub for high-value digital service exports and global business operations.
