EUI 30 Engineering Students Excel in PWL Blended Courses

30 students of the Faculty of Engineering at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) have

achieved the highest scores in the blended course entitled “Signals and Systems” they took with Purdue University,

West Lafayette (PWL), the United States of America (USA), during the summer semester.

80 students from the USA and some other countries participated in the “Signals and Systems” course.

The average score of EUI students was 93%. In comparison, the average score of all other students in this course was 82%.

About 23 of the students were able to excel and obtain an “A” grade,

three received an “A-” grade, two received a “B+”, and two others received a “B” grade.

This reflects the quality and progress of the academic programs they receive during their study at EUI,

through the ongoing support from the ICT Minister and the accurate academic

supervision by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This is part of EUI efforts and mission to enhance its international partnerships and

relations with prestigious global universities to offer dual degrees,

in line with the state’s directive for Egyptian universities to partner with the most prestigious universities worldwide.

Since its establishment, EUI has fostered areas of cooperation and leveraged partnerships to strengthen its position locally, regionally,

and internationally as a leading ICT-specialized university,

through its academic programs compatible with other programs offered by major

international universities and its interest in scientific research and innovation.

EUI also pays great attention to empowering students with the latest scientific advancements and soft and English skills.

It supports and encourages them to excel in different activities and events inside and outside the campus.

It is worth noting that the dual bachelor’s degree has already been offered for EUI

students of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences with the University of Minnesota,

Twin Cities; seven third-year students registered at the beginning of the current semester to take blended courses with the University of Minnesota,

Twin Cities, according to the study plan agreed upon between EUI Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences and

the College of Science and Engineering (Department of Computer Science) at the University of Minnesota.

EUI was keen to enter into partnerships and agreements with prestigious top-ranked international universities,

including inking an agreement with PWL, ranked as the fourth best Engineering School based on U.S. News in 2023,

to grant a dual degree in computer engineering and electrical engineering.

This is in addition to another agreement inked with PWL to offer a professional master’s degree in information security from

PWL Department of Computer Science, which also applies to EUI Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences.

EUI also signed an agreement with the University of Minnesota,

Twin Cities, ranked 34th in Computer Science according to the U.S. News 2023.

Furthermore, another dual bachelor’s degree agreement has been signed with EUI Faculty of Business Informatics and Telfer School of

Management (ranked among the top 1% of the business schools in the world to have achieved the triple crown of accreditations) at the University of Ottawa.

Under these agreements, eligible students from the faculties of Engineering, Computing and Information Sciences,

and Business Informatics at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) are able to earn dual bachelor’s degrees in specific disciplines and programs offered by the university.

The dual degree program is designed to provide students with the maximum benefit in their academic careers and to prepare them optimally for the needs of the domestic and international labor market.
