Huawei Egypt recognized as “Top Employer” for 2021 in Africa

Huawei Technologies, a global leader in information and communication technology solutions, has been chosen, by the Top Employers Institute, as the “Top Employer” for 2021 in Africa. This award was pertinent to Huawei’s efforts in Africa and awarded to Egypt among 9 other countries.

 

This accreditation comes as a testament to the accomplishments that Huawei has achieved regarding the implementation of the best practices in the human resource management, which focus on promoting a positive work environment, as well as encouraging employees to develop personally and professionally.

The Top Employers Institute awarded its certificate to Huawei after its success in the evaluations carried out by the institute, which include the necessity of following good human resources policies.

 

Meaning, these policies entail applying six principles that include 20 topics in the field of human resources such as; offering better orientation for workers, showing great job performance, attracting the best talents, developing capabilities, positively interacting within the institution, and finally having diversity and inclusion within the work environment.

In this context, Vincent Sun, CEO of Huawei Egypt, commented: “We take pride in the fact that Huawei was unprecedentedly chosen as one of the best work environments and the Top employer in Africa.

 

This certificate confirms the company’s efforts, as it is a nod of appreciation for its continuous excellence in providing development programs.”

We also consider our human energy to be the most important asset of the company, and we are keen to continuously involve them in programs,

activities, and dedicated initiatives. Undoubtedly, we look forward to not merely providing these cadres with the necessary and appropriate training to develop their professional lives, but also take their opinions and ideas into consideration, thus forming a positive and stimulating work environment and culture at various levels.” Added Sun

Mr. Max Wei, Director of Human Resources Department of Huawei Egypt, “2020 was full of stressful events as we all witnessed, it affected the global and local economy, but we were able, with the efforts of our employees, to overcome this testing time. Indeed, we managed to remain strong and resilient, thanks to our persistence, flexibility, and our keenness, at the same time, to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees.

 

Amid the Coronavirus’s outbreak, we were able to develop a global and local strategic plan, in more than 170 countries, that prioritizes the company’s employees.

 

We implemented the domestic work program and the use of technological means, believing in the prominence of digital transformation to complete the work on a regular basis.

 

We also continued to spread awareness among our employees and send warning instructions to ensure their safety.

 

On the other hand, the employees were keen on working around the clock, seven days a week, due to their keen awareness of the danger of halting the operations on the economy as a whole.”

David Blink, Executive Director of The Top Employers Institute, stated: “Despite the challenging year that we have gone through, which has definitely had an impact on the organizations world-wide, Huawei was able to place its employees first.

It is worth noting that Huawei started its global business more than 30 years ago. Over these years, Huawei expanded in more than 170 countries outside China, employing nearly 194,000 workers and employees from nearly 157 countries / regions.

 

Huawei works on the reinforcement of its employees by providing distinguished training and empowerment programs in the hope of ensuring that the employees’ capabilities continue to develop, and are up to speed regarding the latest technological solutions, which are developed at the Research and Development centers, in order to lead the global digital transformation.
