Cleopatra Hospitals Group (CHG), Egypt’s largest private healthcare network, has significantly strengthened its cybersecurity operations after deploying Kaspersky Next XDR Expert, reducing investigation time for high-severity cyber incidents from as much as eight hours to just two.
The improvement enables CHG’s security team to respond to critical threats more rapidly, minimize potential disruption and protect the reliability of digital services across its hospitals, medical centers and partner networks.
Building a More Advanced Cybersecurity Strategy
Cleopatra Hospitals Group was established through the consolidation of several leading hospitals, creating the largest private healthcare network in Egypt. The organization has automated more than 90% of its workflows across its hospitals and built a centralized digital environment supporting patients, employees and partners.
As its digital infrastructure expanded, however, CHG recognized the need for a more advanced cybersecurity strategy. Moving beyond traditional antivirus protection, the group sought a dedicated solution capable of delivering deeper visibility and supporting a more mature security operations model.
Kaspersky Next XDR Expert Integrated Across the Infrastructure
Following an evaluation of cybersecurity solutions based on product maturity, vendor expertise, implementation requirements, team enablement and overall cost-effectiveness, CHG selected Kaspersky as a partner aligned with its long-term cybersecurity strategy.
Kaspersky specialists worked alongside CHG’s technology delivery teams and implementation partner to integrate Kaspersky Next XDR Expert across the organization’s infrastructure and security operations.
The solution provides a comprehensive security view by combining visibility, data correlation and automation across multiple response tools and sources, including endpoint, network and cloud data.
Kaspersky also provided end-to-end support throughout the deployment, helping ensure proper log ingestion, optimization across CHG’s existing technology ecosystem, license alignment and interoperability with other security solutions.
Faster Detection and Investigation of Cyber Threats
The deployment has strengthened the foundation of CHG’s security operations center (SOC) and created greater scope for future cybersecurity improvements.
With comprehensive visibility into endpoint activity and day-to-day operations across its infrastructure, the security team can identify threats more efficiently and accelerate the resolution of security incidents.
High-severity incidents that previously required up to eight hours to investigate can now be assessed within two hours. Medium-severity incidents are resolved in four hours instead of one full day, while low-severity incidents are investigated within eight hours rather than two days—an 83% reduction in investigation time for both categories.
These improvements allow CHG’s cybersecurity team to assess incidents faster, prioritize the most critical risks and reduce their potential impact on healthcare operations.
Protecting a Highly Digitized Healthcare Network
The enhanced cybersecurity capabilities support a highly digitized healthcare environment serving more than two million patients every year across a large network of medical entities.
CHG’s infrastructure includes more than 3,000 endpoints and over 500 servers, while between 90% and 95% of its workflows are automated. This level of digital integration makes continuous visibility, rapid threat detection and effective incident response increasingly important to maintaining resilient healthcare operations.
CHG Highlights the Importance of Greater Visibility
Dr. Amr Al-Ashkar, Chief Information Officer at Cleopatra Hospitals Group, said the collaboration with Kaspersky has strengthened visibility across the organization’s digital environment, covering endpoint activity, threat correlation, log analysis and zero-day investigation.
He noted that such visibility is essential for a healthcare organization operating at CHG’s scale, particularly when it comes to maintaining resilient operations and supporting patient care.
According to Al-Ashkar, the capabilities of the solution, implementation expertise and ongoing support were critical to the success of the project.
Kaspersky: Healthcare Cybersecurity Must Keep Pace With Digital Transformation
Sherif El Khoriby, Head of B2B Sales for Egypt at Kaspersky, said healthcare organizations are undergoing rapid digital transformation, making it essential for cybersecurity capabilities to evolve alongside increasingly complex infrastructures.
He highlighted the CHG collaboration as an example of how a mature security operations model, combined with advanced visibility and automation, can help organizations detect and respond to threats more quickly while supporting their long-term digital objectives.
Kaspersky, he added, remains focused on helping organizations address evolving cybersecurity challenges through solutions designed to be reliable, effective and easy to adopt.
